Job Description

This position supports the production of small drone engines in a structured, quality-focused manufacturing environment. You will perform hands-on mechanical and light electrical assembly of brushless DC motors, working with components such as stators, rotors, housings, shafts, and bearings. The team includes multiple machine operators and a lead technician, with the lead technician handling complex soldering and final quality checks to ensure each motor meets stringent performance standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble motor components including stators, rotors, housings, shafts, and bearings according to detailed specifications.
• Follow precise work instructions, torque specifications, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
• Perform light electrical assembly, including wire soldering and installation of electrical connectors.
• Operate basic assembly equipment such as presses, fixtures, and balancing equipment after appropriate training.
• Conduct in-process inspections and basic quality checks to verify that assemblies meet required standards.
• Accurately record production data and traceability information in the designated systems or documentation.
• Identify defects or process deviations and promptly escalate issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation in accordance with 5S principles.
• Comply with all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements while working on the production floor.
• Support final assembly quality checks, with the lead technician performing complex soldering and overseeing final inspection activities.

Essential Skills

• 1–3 years of electrical assembly or machine operation experience; lead technician roles require 5+ years of experience.
• At least 1 year of soldering experience for machine operator positions; lead technician roles require 5+ years of soldering experience.
• Hands-on manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience in a production environment.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and basic technical documentation.
• Solid understanding of mechanical assembly principles and electrical components.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or basic schematics for assembly work.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving basic assembly issues.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks that require manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Electric motor or electromechanical assembly experience, particularly with brushless DC motors.
• Experience working in ISO-certified or other quality-controlled manufacturing environments.
• Experience on an assembly line or production floor performing sub-assembly and final assembly tasks.
• Familiarity with electronic assembly, wiring, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures and other basic inspection equipment.
• Experience in inspection, packaging, and documentation of production output.
• Comfort working with work instructions, standard operating procedures, and 5S practices.
• General labor or machine operator experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

You will work on a fast-paced production floor within a conditioned warehouse environment, primarily on an assembly line focused on small drone engine and motor production. The role involves repetitive, hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly tasks that require manual dexterity and consistent attention to detail. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, presses, fixtures, balancing equipment, and basic measuring and inspection tools. The position requires standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and other required gear, must be worn at all times in accordance with safety policies. The environment follows structured manufacturing and 5S principles, with clearly defined workstations, documented work instructions, and quality-controlled processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Tobyhanna, PA.

The pay range for this position is $23.74 - $26.02/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Tobyhanna,PA.
