Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated pharmacy equipment using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system schematics.
  • Ensure high reliability and uptime of pharmacy automation systems, facility infrastructure, and supporting utility systems.
  • Analyze system data and reporting outputs to identify trends, diagnose root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Monitor and improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) for electro‑mechanical equipment and associated software control systems.
  • Troubleshoot, install, service, and repair automated production equipment, including robotics, PLCs, electrical controls, and software interfaces.
  • Provide expert technical support for robot‑ and PLC‑based hardware and software systems.
  • Execute preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work orders in alignment with operational priorities.
  • Partner with developers, production engineering, and vendors to implement new processes, equipment enhancements, and system improvements.
  • Recommend design and process improvements to enhance equipment quality, performance, safety, and maintainability.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance rounds, and diagnostics to identify early signs of degraded system performance.
  • Document all preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities accurately within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS – Maximo).
  • Serve as the senior technical point of contact for junior technicians, providing guidance on maintenance activities, upgrades, installations, and spare parts management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, technical expertise, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation
  • Shift - Monday - Thursday - 2:30 pm to 1:00 AM

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in automation engineering, maintenance, or a closely related technical field.
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining and troubleshooting high‑volume automated or pharmaceutical production equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electro‑mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficiency with PLCs, I/O, field devices, robotic systems, and electrical controls.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance data.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and participate in on‑call support as needed.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other sites or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with RSLogix, DeviceNet, and ControlNet systems.
  • Experience in OSHA 1910 safety standards and regulated production environments.
  • Training in root cause analysis and total quality methodologies.
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
  • Advanced experience with Verint V15 Recording and Analytics Suite.
