Overview

In this role, you will drive collaboration, technical alignment, and application review for customer projects that utilize advanced electric technologies. You will play a key role in delivering and commissioning next‑generation Low and Medium Voltage (LV/MV) power system solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce emissions, lower costs, and optimize well productivity across challenging oil and gas applications.

This is a high‑visibility position requiring strong communication, cross‑functional influence, and technical leadership. You will work closely with Technology teams, business leaders, customers, and suppliers to translate operational needs into high‑performance electrical power system solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Foster a culture of collaboration across LV/MV power system engineering teams to ensure state‑of‑the‑art technology is incorporated into customer‑focused solutions.
  • Partner proactively with design, maintenance, and operations personnel to ensure safe, reliable deployment of high‑performance electrical systems that meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Engage closely with suppliers to ensure component and subsystem quality, reliability, and performance standards are met.
Documentation & Engineering Tools
  • Develop technical specifications, procedures, installation guidelines, and testing documentation. Strong written communication skills are essential.
  • Use a variety of engineering, enterprise, and productivity tools, including Product Data Management systems, SAP, internal application tools, ETAP/SKM, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office products.
Hands‑On Engineering & Field Support
  • Participate in hands‑on equipment and system interaction, including lab testing, full‑scale testing, and field validation.
  • Travel 10–15% of the time to active well sites, customer offices, vendor facilities, Halliburton locations, and industry events. Travel for deployment or commissioning may occasionally include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (minimum) with 5+ years of electrical power systems experience; Master’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting customers in the application, selection, and deployment of mobile electrical gear and power system solutions.
  • Proficiency with electrical analysis tools such as SKM or ETAP.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical systems including microgrids, utility interfaces, natural gas generators/turbines, MV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, AC motors, and protection systems for mobile or industrial applications.
  • Background in MV power generation and/or distribution within oil & gas applications preferred.
  • Experience in large‑scale industrial environments such as chemical, pharmaceutical, refining, or similar process industries.
  • Understanding of commissioning practices for LV/MV power systems (utility‑powered, microgrid, and mobile generation), along with demonstrated troubleshooting skills.

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
