About the Company

An early-stage defense technology company is developing autonomous maritime systems designed for mission-critical operations in highly demanding environments. The team is focused on building resilient, high-performance hardware platforms that support national security objectives. This is a fast-moving environment centered on real-world deployment, technical ownership, and close cross-functional collaboration.

The Role

The company is looking for an Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of electronic systems for autonomous platforms. The role covers everything from board-level design to broader electrical architecture, with the opportunity to take hardware from early concept through deployment. It is a hands-on position for someone who is just as comfortable working in design tools as they are troubleshooting at the bench.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and layout printed circuit boards for vehicle subsystems, from concept through production-ready release
  • Architect and implement power generation, conversion, and distribution systems for demanding operating environments
  • Design and integrate sensor interfaces and signal conditioning circuits for perception and navigation systems
  • Define and implement communication bus architectures across vehicle subsystems
  • Design wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and interconnect solutions for harsh environment use cases
  • Contribute to overall electrical system architecture, including interface definition, power budgets, and integration strategy
  • Bring up, debug, and validate boards and integrated assemblies in lab and test environments

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and development
  • Strong PCB design skills, including schematic capture, layout, and understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal fundamentals
  • Experience with power systems design, including conversion topologies, battery management, and distribution architectures
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal design, including signal conditioning for sensors
  • Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
  • Experience designing for harsh environments, including thermal, vibration, pressure, or corrosion-related constraints
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance
