Early College Coordinator

The role of the high school coordinator is to implement practices that provide the student with the opportunity to gain appropriatecollege behaviors and knowledge which can be utilized in the college setting.


FALL and SPRING Semesters:

- Help students apply for admissions through the DE.com system

- Upload transcripts to student's records in DE.com system

- Assess and assist students with'College Readiness' skills

- Assist students with registration by the last day to register

-Mentor students and parents on the dual enrollment & JTED processes

- Use the Early College website and handouts to assist students

-Recommend students appropriately for dual enrollment & JTED courses

- Refer students appropriately to the college if problems arise

- Communicate with Early College staff regarding any changes/modifications to your school's dual enrollment and JTED programs


Fall Registration: Assist students with meeting the prerequisites by July 1st

Spring Registration: Assist students with meeting the prerequisites by Dec 15th


- Email Dual Enrollment & JTED course details to the Dean so courses can be built in the YC system

- Participate in the yearly Dual Enrollment Professional Development training.


SPRING Semester-To prepare for the upcoming school year:


February:
Schedule Early College Orientations and Conduct Admissions for students recommended for the dual enrollment & JTED program.

Schedule to attend an Early College Day event:Students will take Compass/Accuplacer, take a campus tour and sit through a group advising session.


- Use the DE.com system to track students' progress

- Recommend students appropriately for dual enrollment courses for the following school year

- Provide alternatives for students not assessing into dual enrollment classes.
