Job Title: Dump Truck Driver

Job Description

The Dump Truck Driver transports asphalt between the asphalt plant and various roadway and sidewalk construction sites in the surrounding area. In this role, you safely operate a 10-wheel dump truck, support asphalt installation activities, and assist the crew on the ground to maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a 10-wheel dump truck to and from the asphalt plant and multiple job sites in the area in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Set up the truck safely at each job site to allow for proper and secure asphalt installation.
  • Unload asphalt at job sites, following all safety procedures and site instructions.
  • Assist the ground crew by wheelbarrowing asphalt to designated areas as needed.
  • Rake and lute asphalt to support proper placement, grading, and compaction.
  • Help maintain a neat, clean, and organized jobsite throughout the workday.
  • Follow all jobsite safety protocols to protect yourself, your truck, and coworkers.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to coordinate loading, hauling, and unloading of asphalt.
  • Inspect the truck daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Essential Skills

  • Clean and current CDL Class A license.
  • Prior experience driving 10-wheel dump trucks.
  • Experience operating dump trucks in construction or asphalt environments.
  • Ability to assist with asphalt raking, luting, and wheelbarrowing.
  • Knowledge of basic construction site safety practices.
  • Capability to work on active roadway and sidewalk construction sites.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area around the truck and jobsite.
  • Strong focus on safe driving and safe equipment operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on road or sidewalk construction projects.
  • Expeience in general construction or asphalt paving work.
  • Comfort working in a blue-collar, team-oriented environment.
  • Reliability and willingness to take on both driving and ground support tasks.

Work Environment

This role is based on active construction sites for roadways and sidewalks across Central New York. This is a Permanent position based out of Syracuse, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $57200.00 - $80080.00/yr.
