Role Description

The Director of Warehouse Operations is a critical, highly-visibility leadership role within Warmies growing organization. This position is responsible for both the strategic development and day-to-day execution of warehouse operations, with a focus on building a best-in-class function.

Key responsibilities include overseeing workforce scheduling, managing daily operations, and establishing productivity standards that optimize the use of both human capital and automation. This role plays a vital part in driving customer satisfaction, meeting service level agreements (SLA’s) and supporting overall organizational objectives.

In addition, the Director will coach and develop supervisors and direct reports to elevate team performance. The role fosters a transparent, open-door culture that promotes strong communication, accountability and continuous improvement across the operation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective matter in accordance with established company policies to achieve stated objectives of the position.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel and set direction and initiatives for process improvements with a LEAN mindset. (LEAN certification(s) a plus)
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, training, coaching and development.
  • Ensure increasing levels of customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower/labor, technological enablers and materials.
  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships across business enterprise.
  • Standardize procedures across all facilities/warehouse(s) leveraging Leader Standard Work (LSW) methodology or equivalent.  
  • Interface with Production, Customer Service and Inventory team(s) to increase overall efficiencies, foster collaborative teamwork and accretive value creation.
  • Responsible for overseeing OSHA and safety compliance protocols and programs.  


Qualifications

·      BS Degree in Operations, Logistics or Business Management or equivalent work experience depicted below. 

  • Minimum of 6-8 years progressive experience in a high-volume pick/pack and ship environment with order volume levels exceeding 2-4K per day. 
  • Demonstrated experience in building high performance teams and secondary succession planning exposure with tools such as (4-box, 9-box)   
  • CPIM, CSCP, CLTD and or PMP accreditation highly desirable, looking for a self-starter and visionary  
  • Bi-lingual capabilities and fluency in Spanish will be extremely helpful in navigating day-to-day activities within warehouse but not mandatory 
  • Systems proficiency WMS, ERP, Power BI and Microsoft office
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, exposure to EHS safety awareness programs and metrics coupled with warehouse operations and cost/P&L management 
  • This position requires strong analytical, interpersonal and project management skills. Prior experience leading a full distribution center (DC) relocation, including facility setup, racking layout and introduction of automation is highly preferred.
  • Must live within the Chicagoland region – NO relocation


Comp and Benefits:

  • Salary: Up to $130,000 (depending on experience)
