A private family on the Peninsula is seeking a Director of Operations to support the Chief of Staff and provide high-level operational and administrative leadership across the family’s households. This role is ideal for someone with experience in team management, household operations, and administrative oversight who thrives in a hands-on, dynamic environment. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Chief of Staff to ensure smooth operations, support the family’s needs, and help build a strong team culture.


***Please note this is primarily an onsite role on the Peninsula/family office, with travel to other Northern California properties as needed. Flexibility is required.


  • Key Responsibilities:Support the Chief of Staff and family with day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives
  • Manage payroll, invoicing, and home budgets, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including invoicing, coordination, and quality oversight
  • Partner with the Chief of Staff to oversee household staff, including scheduling, performance management, and team development
  • Build and maintain team culture, standard operating procedures, and operational protocols
  • Fill in for the Chief of Staff when they are unavailable, including light calendar and travel support as needed
  • Assist with other administrative or operational tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility and service orientation
  • Travel as needed to support multiple properties and family events in Northern California


  • Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
  • Experience in operations, household management, or similar administrative leadership roles within family office or private services
  • Hands-on, service-oriented mindset; no task is too big or small
  • Warm, positive, and team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate staff while maintaining a high level of discretion
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Flexible and adaptable, including potential travel and occasional overtime
  • Open to relocation assistance if needed
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-performance, dynamic environment supporting high-profile families


Compensation:

  • $150,000 – 200,000 depending on experienceBenefits stipend provided until family benefits plan is established.
  • Relocation assistance may be available.
