Director of Finance

Director of Finance – Nonprofit Organization

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for a mission-driven nonprofit organization. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about strengthening financial stewardship and supporting organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with nonprofit standards
• Lead grant reporting and ensure proper tracking, allocation, and compliance with funding requirements
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes across departments and programs
• Conduct cash flow analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Track, analyze, and report organizational expenses with a focus on efficiency and accountability
• Coordinate and support annual audits and tax return preparation
• Maintain and optimize investment account performance in alignment with organizational policies
• Present quarterly financial updates and insights to the Finance Committee and senior leadership
• Strengthen internal financial controls and continuously improve accounting processes

Qualifications:

• Strong background in nonprofit accounting and fund accounting principles
• Experience with financial reporting, grants management, and audit coordination
• Proven ability to present financial information to executive leadership and board committees
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on financial management
