Slane Co.'s client is seeking a Lead/Director of Estimating to join its growing team in Raleigh, NC. This role is being added to support the company’s continued growth and will work alongside the current estimating team to help manage and pursue upcoming heavy civil and site development projects.
This opportunity offers flexibility in scope and title depending on the candidate’s experience level, with the potential to step into a leadership role within the estimating function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil and site development projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate project budgets
- Coordinate with project management and operations teams during the bid process
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure competitive pricing
- Assist in developing bid strategies and supporting preconstruction efforts
- Support estimating processes and help strengthen the company’s bidding capabilities as the team grows
Qualifications
- 7+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil, site development, or related construction sectors required
- Experience reviewing civil construction plans and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
- Experience with HeavyBid, Agtek, and CAD file takeoffs preferred (or similar estimating software)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
Reporting Structure
This position will report to the Owner or Director of Project Management, depending on the candidate’s experience and level of responsibility.
