Digital Technology Lead – Core Commerce & Business Logic

International Motors, LLC
Lisle, IL

Position Overview

As the Digital Technology Lead for Core Commerce, you are the technical authority for our transaction engine and integration backbone. You will oversee the development of our Spryker Cloud Commerce OS environment, ensuring that complex B2B business logic is translated into scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend code.

You are a "Systems-First Engineer" who understands that the heart of eCommerce isn't just a shopping cart—it’s a sophisticated data exchange between the Storefront, the PIM (Syndigo), and our various Dealer Management Systems (DMS).

Responsibilities

1. Core Engine & Logic Governance

  • Backend Authority: Lead the technical execution for the Core POD, performing deep code reviews of Spryker Zed (Backend) and Glue API developments to ensure elite security and scalability.
  • State Machine Orchestration: Own the design and implementation of Spryker "State Machines" to automate complex order-to-cash workflows, returns, and core-charge logic.
  • Architectural Alignment: Partner with the eCommerce Digital Solutions & Platform Architect to ensure that all backend microservices and API contracts are robust and future-proof.

2. Integration & Data Orchestration

  • DMS Connectivity: Oversee the technical integration between the commerce engine and our primary DMS platforms (CDK, Procede, SAP, Karmak), ensuring real-time accuracy for pricing and inventory.
  • PIM & Catalog Logic: Lead the technical strategy for consuming high-volume product data from Syndigo and fitment data from the Vin POD, ensuring high-speed processing and indexing.
  • Legacy Modernization: Actively contribute to the refactoring of legacy business logic into modern, modular Spryker modules.

3. AI-Augmented Engineering (10x Efficiency)

  • AI Productivity Mastery: Advanced proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Replit Agent) to accelerate complex backend logic development and data mapping.
  • Automated Logic Auditing: Leverage AI to generate exhaustive unit tests for edge-case commercial rules (e.g., "What happens if a fleet customer has a split-tax exemption and a credit limit breach?").
  • Schema & Mapping Automation: Utilize AI agents to automate the translation of disparate DMS data formats into standardized Spryker JSON structures.

  • Proven experience leading technical delivery in an Agile environment, with a focus on Data Integrity and System Resilience.
