The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for all external communications, marketing, promotions, and public relations initiatives for SFU's Beedie School of Business. The Marketing & Communications team support various stakeholders, including graduate and undergraduate recruitment, alumni, career management centre, the dean's office, student engagement, and more. The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for all paid, earned, and owned content creation and oversight, and for ensuring the integrity of the SFU Beedie brand across all communication channels and assets, including the business school's website and social media accounts. The Marketing & Communications team manages relationships with a media agency, an advertising agency, and a variety of contract vendors (including photographers, copywriters, digital marketing specialists, web developers, and more).

About the Role

The Coordinator, Digital Strategy plays a key role in assisting with the implementation, assessment, and ongoing enrichment of Beedie School of Business (SFU Beedie) online marketing, communications, and advertising initiatives in support of the school’s branding and business objectives. The Coordinator supports the supervisor in cultivating an effective and dynamic digital presence to drive social media following and engagement, web traffic, conversions or other online objectives. In collaboration with the supervisor, the Coordinator establishes and implements digital brand guidelines and creates the necessary brand assets to ensure all digital properties support the school’s brand strategy.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field and three years of related experience, including experience in the design, planning, and execution of marketing and communication plans, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of communication, promotion, and marketing principles and practices, particularly with strategies using digital media.
  • Excellent knowledge of web and social media functions and tools for content publishing, campaign management, monitoring, tracking, and reporting (e.g., CMS, Hootsuite, Google Analytics).
  • Good knowledge of business school or higher education marketing and communications practices, particularly in a brand-driven environment.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent project coordination skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to recommend and deliver solutions to marketing and communications challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a variety of settings while exercising mature judgment, initiative, professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office applications for producing professional, high quality marketing and communication collateral.
  • Experience in photography, preferably with DSLR camera.
  • Ability to arrange suitable transportation to work at various campus locations (Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends, as required, for special events.
