Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dermatologic evaluations, including full-body skin exams and patient histories
- Diagnose and manage a variety of dermatologic conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, fungal infections, and rashes
- Evaluate and treat precancerous and cancerous skin lesions, including AK, BCC, SCC, and melanoma within scope of practice
- Perform dermatologic procedures including:
- Shave, punch, and excisional biopsies
- Cryotherapy
- Lesion removal
- Wound care and post-procedure management
- Order and interpret dermatopathology and diagnostic testing
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure guidelines
- Educate patients on skin health, disease prevention, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and HIPAA standards
- Participate in ongoing dermatology-focused education and professional development
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited NP or PA program
- Active North Carolina NP or PA license
- National certification (AANP/ANCC for NPs or NCCPA for PAs)
- Minimum 1 year of dermatology experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
