We are currently actively recruiting for a Data Governance Director for our client in the East Bay.


What this role is responsible for:

  • Leading the development + execution of data governance framework
  • Ensuring that our data is trusted, accurate, and consistent so that we can make better business decisions, improved financial outcomes, and reduce operational risk
  • Unlocking the full value of data across the organization through strengthening data accuracy, consistency, and accountability, directly impacting operational efficiency + our ability to scale
  • Operating as a cross-functional leader, partnering closely with senior business stakeholders + IT to establish clear ownership, enforce standards, and embed governance into day-to-day workflows
  • Will own the following areas = Data Governance Strategy & Framework, Cross-Functional Leadership & Alignment, Data Quality & Performance Management, Issue Management & Escalation, Technology & Enablement, and Standards, Policies & Controls


What you will bring to the role:

  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or related fields
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Bring both strategic leadership + hands-on execution to build + sustain a scalable governance model that supports our growing business
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up like environment
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data domains such as product, pricing, inventory, financial, and customer data
  • Experience establishing data standards, governance frameworks, and data quality programs
  • Ability to influence + drive alignment across senior business + technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical + problem-solving skills with a focus on business impact
  • Experience working with data governance tools (MDM, data quality, cataloging) is a plus
  • Retail, grocery, or consumer industry experience preferred
