We are seeking a highly capable and proactive PMO Portfolio Manager supporting a hyperscale datacenter client to serve primarily as a Critical Business Process Expeditor. This role supports the Global Portfolio Management Office (PMO) by delivering end-to-end oversight, financial review, and process acceleration for a rapidly growing hyperscale data center retrofit construction portfolio that delivers thousands of projects annually.

The Portfolio Manager acts as the primary workflow accelerant, bridging the gap between administrative backlogs and project execution. By monitoring, hand-holding, and escalating workflows, this role eliminates the gap between hand-offs and ensures that high-priority projects move swiftly from initial funding to final contracts. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of independently driving business process management, executing cross-functional reporting, and navigating a highly matrixed organization to enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs).

As a CBRE Client Consulting Consultant/PMO Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a variety of research initiatives used in the development of client deliverables.

This job is part of the Client Consulting function. They are responsible for Advisory services in relation to real estate operations and investments.

What You’ll Do:
  • Review financial information and additional data for a range of deliverables provided by team. Examples include market plans, process improvements, management practices, and business unit communications.
  • Workflow Expediting & Execution

    • Manage and speed up the entire project setup process, from funding to purchase orders, to reduce completion time.
    • Monitor daily progress to identify stalled tasks and prompt responsible teams (Finance, Legal) to keep work moving.
    • Ensure workflows are completed quickly and meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

    Financial Review & Process Governance

    • Oversee financial approvals for data center projects, tracking purchase orders, contract changes, and reviews by legal and quantity surveyors.
    • Improve funding and procurement processes through Business Process Management (BPM) initiatives.
    • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), process diagrams, and governance definitions to prevent delays.

    Escalation Management & Stakeholder Coordination

    • Act as the primary point of contact for stalled workflows, escalating issues to various teams (Construction, Cost Controls, Legal, Procurement, Finance) as needed.
    • Initiate interventions and communications to resolve approval bottlenecks.
    • Work with regional and site managers, technical experts, and support teams to fix issues hindering workflow progress.

    Reporting, Documentation & Analytics

    • Create and distribute a bi-weekly newsletter detailing workflow status, SLA performance, and approved financials.
    • Conduct quarterly analyses to assess long-term performance, cycle times, and the financial benefits of expedited workflows.
    • Analyze data using tools like Looker Studio to identify delays, track workflow volume, and update dashboards.
  • Develop reports to encourage optimization across many activities. Examples include organizational design, process improvement, and management practices.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.


What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Real Estate license, as required by the State.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the PMO Portfolio Manager/Client Consulting position is $120,000 annually [or $57.69 per hour] and the maximum salary for the PMO Portfolio Manager/Client Consulting position is $140,000 annually [or $67.31 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
