The College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences IT Systems team at the University of Virginia seeks a Data and Integration Specialist to modernize workflows and strengthen system integration. In this role, you will build capacity across data management, analytics, automated workflows, and system integrations — supporting leadership reporting and creating sustainable operational processes enterprise-wide.
Candidate Profile
Staying on top of trends and keeping your skills sharp matters to you, but you know accomplishing goals and delivering on your commitments is your primary responsibility. You use innovative technology as an enabler, not just something to play with.
You see gaps and opportunities before others, understand why they matter, and begin collaborating on solutions.
You're equally comfortable writing a Python script and explaining how the result functions to someone who has never written a line of code. You know that a technically elegant solution nobody understands is a liability.
The details matter to you — not as an end in themselves, but because you've seen what happens downstream when they don't. When priorities shift, you recalibrate; operating in a dynamic environment is exciting to you, not something that shuts you down. You take ownership of what you build, end-to-end: you follow through without being asked, escalate when something needs it, and don't let things stall.
