Cyber Security Engineer

GoHypersonic is a small aerospace research company consisting mainly of brilliant engineers in two locations: Dayton, OH, and Minneapolis, MN. This position will be based in Dayton, with travel to the Twin Cities on occasion. The perfect candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, will be very organized, and will have experience in a Defense Industrial Base environment.

Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Cyber Security Specialist to join our on-site team in Dayton, OH. The Cyber Security Specialist will oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of cyber security measures to safeguard GHI’s network, applications, and sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

·      Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks.

·      Troubleshooting security and network problems.

·      Responding to system and/or network security breaches.

·      Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls in accordance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC guidelines.

·      Participating in the change management process.

·      Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.

·      Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Cybersecurity, Application Security, and Information Security
• Expertise in Network Security protocols and practices
• NIST 800-171 and CMMC requirements
• Experience in identifying and mitigating risks within cybersecurity frameworks
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and best practices in cyber risk management
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to act quickly in response to cyber threats
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
• U.S. citizenship required due to contractual obligations, with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
