Customer Service Representative

Russell Tobin's client is hiring a Customer Service Representative in Melvindale, MI

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Onsite - Melvindale, MI 48122

Pay rate: $16-$17.36/hr

Responsibilities:

• Handle high-volume inbound and outbound calls (40–60 inbound, 10–20 outbound daily).
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and text messaging.
• Perform accurate data entry and order processing, including frame ordering.
• Conduct research and follow-through on customer requests (5–15 minutes per case).
• Resolve customer issues using internal systems and tools.
• Escalate unresolved concerns appropriately.
• Maintain professionalism and deliver a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage high call volumes and multitask efficiently.
• Comfortable handling incoming and outgoing calls daily.

Nice to have:

• Prior customer service or call center experience.
• Optical industry experience is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel (creating spreadsheets/formulas).
• Familiarity with DVI software (order entry and job lookup).
