Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: 120,000 to 130,000


Position Overview

The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee all cost accounting activities for two manufacturing plants and act as a key financial partner to Operations leadership. This role focuses on standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation while driving cost visibility and margin improvement. The Cost Accounting Manager position requires strong analytical skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial goals.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.


Responsibilities

Manage all financial aspects of a manufacturing plant, including budgeting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.

Participate in month-end and year-end closes to ensure accurate financial statements.

Prepare annual budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning as Cost Accounting Manager.

Partner with Operations to provide timely, detailed analytical reports on costs, spend, and variances.

Analyze plant utilization and labor operations to identify efficiency opportunities.

Perform all cost accounting activities, including standard cost roll, multi-level bills of materials, labor and overhead rates, and product cost development.

Conduct general accounting activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations.

Identify opportunities to improve profitability through cost reporting and process understanding as Cost Accounting Manager.

Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Oversee physical inventory reviews and support audits.


Required Experience/Skills

5+ years of experience in cost accounting or related financial roles as Cost Accounting Manager.

Prior cost accounting exposure in a manufacturing or production environment.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for Cost Accounting Manager

Excellent organizational and time management abilities.


Preferred Experience/Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

High attention to detail and accuracy as Cost Accounting Manager

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in process improvement initiatives.


Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Advanced coursework or certification in cost accounting or management accounting is a plus.

Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles for Cost Accounting Manager.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cost structures.

Continuing education in financial analysis or operations management preferred.
