Overview
We are hiring a Cost Accountant with strong experience in manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, and cost analysis. This role is highly focused on standard costing, variance analysis, WIP reconciliation, and ERP-driven reporting, along with month-end close responsibilities.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone experienced in manufacturing cost structures, BOM management, and cross-functional collaboration with operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Inventory (75%)
- Perform standard costing and variance analysis (actual vs. standard/FIFO)
- Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, and profitability trends
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), labor standards, and overhead rates
- Manage inventory accounting, WIP reconciliation, and cycle counts
- Develop cost allocation and overhead absorption models
- Support cost reduction initiatives and operational efficiency improvements
- Build reports using ERP systems and advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups)
General Accounting & Close (25%)
- Execute month-end close procedures and journal entries
- Perform account reconciliations (inventory, accruals, manufacturing accounts)
- Assist with financial reporting (GAAP)
- Support audit preparation and compliance controls
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
- 3–7 years of accounting experience
- 3+ years in manufacturing cost accounting
- Strong experience with:
- Inventory accounting & WIP
- BOMs & cost structures
- ERP systems (Business Central or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, analysis)
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing / industrial environment
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement
- Cost reduction or profitability initiatives
- ERP reporting & data analytics
