I'm partnering with a private equity-backed manufacturing and supply chain business seeking a highly strategic Controller to serve as the CEO's primary finance partner and lead all accounting, reporting, cash management, and people operations.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants more than a traditional Controller role. The right candidate will operate as the de facto CFO of a growing middle-market company, helping drive financial strategy, operational decision-making, and organizational effectiveness.
Key areas of responsibility include:
✅ Financial leadership, close process, forecasting, budgeting, and board reporting
✅ Cost accounting, inventory valuation, job costing, and landed cost analysis
✅ Cash flow management, working capital optimization, and banking relationships
✅ ERP ownership and KPI/dashboard development
✅ HR administration, payroll oversight, benefits coordination, and compliance
✅ Strategic partnership with the CEO on pricing, margins, operations, and growth initiatives
Ideal background:
• 7–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Manufacturing, distribution, assembly, or product-based industry experience
• Strong cost accounting and inventory expertise
• ERP experience (Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP Business One, or similar)
• Comfortable as a hands-on finance leader without a large team structure
• Experience with PE-backed businesses or sponsor-level reporting preferred
• CPA or CMA a plus
