Role Overview

The Corporate Controller will serve as the senior accounting leader within a fast-growing, PE-backed organization, owning the financial close, reporting infrastructure, and internal controls environment. This role requires a hands-on operator who can build and scale processes, lead a team of accountants, and serve as a key business partner to the CFO and executive leadership.

The ideal candidate is a credentialed accounting professional with experience in PE-backed environments and the ability to thrive in a high-growth, acquisitive company. This is a high-visibility seat with a direct line to the CFO and a clear path for growth as the business continues to scale.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across all legal entities
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, direction, and career growth opportunities
  • Maintain and strengthen the internal controls environment, ensuring compliance with GAAP and PE sponsor reporting requirements
  • Lead the integration of acquired entities into the consolidated accounting and reporting infrastructure
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger functions
  • Own the external audit relationship and coordinate all audit and tax deliverables with outside advisors
  • Partner with the FP&A function to ensure alignment between actuals reporting and forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Build and maintain technical accounting policies and documentation for complex transactions
  • Drive continuous process improvement across the close cycle through automation and system optimization
  • Support the CFO on strategic projects including debt compliance, transaction support, and board reporting
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison to the PE sponsor and support investor reporting requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity
  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed company environment
  • Strong technical GAAP knowledge including consolidations, revenue recognition, and business combination accounting
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring accounting teams
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication and business partnership skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 or national firm public accounting background
  • Experience in healthcare services, staffing, or high-volume services businesses
  • Familiarity with Workday ERP modules and data structures
  • Experience supporting M&A activity including financial due diligence and post-close integration
  • Exposure to multi-entity, multi-brand organizational structures
  • Ability to work on-site at company headquarters
