Corporate Controller

Ascension Search Partners has been engaged by a revolutionary, privately held SaaS organization operating in a complex hybrid business model.

Our client is seeking a Corporate Controller to build, own, and scale the accounting and financial reporting function during a critical growth phase. The Corporate Controller is responsible for leading all accounting operations and financial reporting while building scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid company growth. This role extends beyond traditional accounting, requiring full ownership of financial integrity, process optimization, technology adoption, and delivery of actionable insights to leadership. The position reports directly to the CEO and partners closely with executive leadership to establish a best-in-class finance function.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and own the accounting function and integrity of the financial data and reporting
• Ownership of the accounting operations and analysis of the financials
• Ensure accuracy of the financials
• Provide transparency of the financials to the leadership team with the development of real time dashboards and financial analysis
• Partner with operations and sales to strengthen reporting and forecasting inputs
• Support operational accounting in a fast-paced environment
• Ownership of compliance, tax function, and external audit
• Drive standardization of accounting processes
• Modernize workflows within the accounting department

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA
• Accounting leadership in a fast-paced PE or VC-backed company with 2+ years of experience in public accounting preferred
• Solid understanding of core accounting fundamentals including debits, credits, and reconciliations
• Experience with accounting systems
• Practical, hands-on, and solutions-oriented mindset
• Detail oriented
