We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support manufacturing automation, test systems, PLC programming, and continuous improvement initiatives within a growing industrial manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Support, troubleshoot, and optimize production equipment, test systems, and plant controls.
  • Develop and maintain PLC, HMI, and automation programs.
  • Provide support for Rockwell PLC platforms, NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and Ignition SCADA.
  • Develop testing protocols, test equipment specifications, and SQL-based data collection systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and electrical safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering or Test Engineering experience.
  • Experience with:
  • Rockwell Automation (RSLogix, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk)
  • PLC & HMI Programming
  • SQL Databases
  • Visual Basic / Visual Studio
  • Industrial Controls & Safety Systems
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Must be located near Waukesha, WI or willing to relocate.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NI LabVIEW, NI TestStand, and Ignition SCADA.
  • Electrical testing and test automation experience.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
  • Experience in an Engineered-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
