About the Opportunity
Our confidential client, a rapidly growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Controller – Manufacturing & Plant Finance to lead financial operations and partner closely with executive leadership and plant operations teams.
This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong experience in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, and operational finance. The successful candidate will be a key driver of profitability, support growth initiatives, improve operational performance, and provide financial leadership across multiple manufacturing functions.
The position offers significant visibility within the organization and the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making in a dynamic production environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead accounting and financial reporting activities across manufacturing operations
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Monitor financial performance and operational profitability
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Maintain strong financial controls and reporting integrity
Plant Finance & Cost Accounting
- Own plant financial reporting and performance analysis
- Manage cost accounting functions across manufacturing operations
- Oversee inventory valuation and inventory control processes
- Perform margin analysis and profitability reporting
- Maintain and improve standard costing methodologies
- Analyze manufacturing variances and operational performance metrics
Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Develop operational financial plans and forecasts
- Monitor results against the budget and identify corrective actions
- Provide financial recommendations to improve business performance
- Support strategic growth initiatives through financial analysis
Operations Partnership
- Partner directly with plant managers and operational leadership teams
- Analyze labor, material, and production costs
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Support productivity improvement initiatives
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs and financial dashboards
Capital Projects & Process Improvement
- Support capital expenditure planning and investment evaluations
- Assist with facility expansion and growth initiatives
- Participate in continuous improvement programs
- Support acquisition, integration, and operational scaling efforts
- Ensure financial discipline around capital investments and growth projects
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Maintain effective internal controls and financial processes
- Support external audits and compliance requirements
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures
- Maintain audit readiness across all manufacturing operations
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing finance experience
- Strong cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting plant operations and manufacturing leadership
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning experience
- Experience with inventory accounting and standard costing
- ERP system experience
- Advanced financial reporting and financial analysis skills
- Strong communication and business partnering abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

- CPA designation
- Experience within complex manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting capital projects and operational improvement initiatives
- Background working with multi-site manufacturing operations
