Overview
Addison Group is representing a growing PE backed construction and infrastructure services firm in the Everett, WA area, specializing in industrial, infrastructure, commercial, and data center projects. The company is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function, support continued growth, and partner closely with executive leadership and CFO on financial strategy, reporting, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, AP/AR, payroll, fixed assets, monthly/annual close, and HR
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting packages
- Improve accounting policies and procedures and implementing efficient processes
- Serve as the internal owner and subject matter expert for the company’s ERP system
- Internal owner of payroll, financial systems and HR benefit administration, ensuring scalable infrastructure to support the company’s growth
- Oversee HR administrative functions including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and employee onboarding/offboarding
- Lead external audit, tax, and insurance processes; serve as primary liaison with external auditors and advisors
- Support operational teams with financial insights related to project performance, margins, and risk
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes to support scalability and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with state, and local tax regulations and data
Leadership & Team Development
- Develop, mentor, and supervise the accounting team of 5, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment
- Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for direct reports
- Build scalable accounting processes and organizational structure to support company growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Understanding of commercial construction, manufacturing, engineering, electrical, HVAC or project/cost related industry a plus
- Proven experience developing, leading, and managing an accounting team
- CPA, Masters, or past public accounting experience a plus
- Possess advanced Excel skills and high proficient with ERP systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a growing organization
This position offers a salary range of $180,000 to $195,000 base depending on experience.
Discretionary bonus. Medical, dental, vision, 401K match, holiday pay and PTO.
100% in-office position.
