  • End-to-End Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Driving agreements (MSA, SOW, NDAs, and Evaluation agreements) to closure by drafting non-standard clauses and negotiating directly with external vendors and customers.
  • Risk Mitigation & Strategic Advisory: Acting as a trusted business partner to identify potential legal issues, provide risk assessments, and ensure all deals protect the company’s interests.
  • Process Optimization & Scalability: Developing and implementing contract practice standards, playbooks, and automated tools to improve workflow efficiency for the broader team.

A strong ownership mindset is required to proactively upskill in these tools if not already proficient.


Description:

  • With strong attention to detail, they will manage a wide range of sales contracts, statements of work, evaluation, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • The Contracts Manager will provide strategic negotiation, risk assessment and management, and contract drafting support on global agreements.
  • The Contracts Manager will collaborate extensively with stakeholders and cross-functional partners to develop and implement improvements to the contract processes and tools.


What You'll Do –

  • Always act with a sense of urgency to drive agreements to closure while protecting Uber
  • Operates with significant autonomy and discretion in communicating with Uber business clients and external customers and vendors
  • Influences at all levels of leadership, both internally and externally, to deliver results
  • Drafts non-standard clauses and negotiates MSA, Statements of Work, Orders Forms, Evaluation, and Non-Disclosure Agreements, including legal practice standards and fallback guidelines set by the Legal Department
  • Acts as a subject matter authority for the organization in the application of the contract approval processes
  • Develops contract practice standards, operating procedures and systems that enable the broader team to scale and work more efficiently and effectively
  • Drive deals with key client customers throughout the Uber for Business team
  • Be an active and trusted business partner, and ensure the provision of timely business focused advice to business clients by identifying potential legal issues and mitigating risk
  • Drive standard methodologies in multiple legal projects, ranging from drafting contract templates, playbooks, contract management policies and legal support processes, with the goal of providing efficient and timely legal support to clients
  • Ability to gain executive partner input on sophisticated projects, framing issues simply and concisely to acquire buy-off to move forward with key decisions/initiatives
