Job Description

The technician supports concrete rehabilitation projects on dams by removing existing concrete, performing saw cutting and coring, and cleaning drainage systems using water jetting equipment. This role involves frequent travel across multiple states, consistent physical labor, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Remove old concrete form surfaces from existing dams in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform concrete saw cutting and coring to specified dimensions and tolerances.
  • Operate water jetting equipment to remove buildup from dam drains and related structures.
  • Clean up and remove old concrete and debris from the work area to maintain a safe and organized job site.
  • Continuously lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Travel regularly to project sites throughout Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming as assigned.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to support construction, mechanical, and service-related tasks.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting issues that arise during demolition, cutting, or cleaning activities.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure work meets project specifications and timelines.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of construction experience in any field.
  • Ability to perform continuous physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Experience working with construction tools and equipment in an outdoor environment.
  • Capability to travel frequently and work at various job sites across multiple states.
  • Strong adherence to safety practices and proper use of PPE.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to support equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a field construction crew.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Concrete experience, including demolition, cutting, or coring, is a plus.
  • Experience in construction-related troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a focus on supporting project and team needs.
  • Willingness to work in changing weather conditions and outdoor environments for extended periods.

Work Environment

This role is entirely field-based and takes place outdoors all day at dam and construction sites. Work continues in both sunny and rainy conditions, and team members must wear the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. The position involves regular travel to various project locations throughout Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming. The environment is physically demanding, with frequent lifting, use of construction tools and equipment, and working on or around concrete structures and water management infrastructure.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Park City, MT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.16 - $23.16/hr.
