Construction Litigation Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Litigation Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join our growing and fast-paced construction law practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex construction disputes and be comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution. This role offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and substantial opportunities for courtroom and deposition experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-volume construction litigation caseload.
  • Take and defend fact witness, corporate representative, and expert depositions.
  • Draft and argue substantive motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and discovery-related motions.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
  • Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Prepare clients, witnesses, and experts for depositions, hearings, and mediation.
  • Participate in case strategy development and evaluation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and insurance representatives.
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including written discovery, document review, and e-discovery coordination.
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to efficiently manage a busy litigation practice.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in The Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • 3–5 years of litigation experience, with construction litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience taking and defending depositions.
  • Experience drafting and arguing substantive motions.
  • Experience participating in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience representing owners, contractors, subcontractors, developers, design professionals, or insurers in construction disputes.
  • Trial experience or significant hearing experience.
  • Familiarity with construction defects, delays, contracts, lien, and payment disputes.
