Construction Estimator / Preconstruction Manager

A well-established General Contractor with a strong local backlog is seeking an Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to join their growing team in Columbia, SC. This company focuses on Commercial, Industrial, and Medical construction and is known for delivering high-quality projects while maintaining a collaborative, team-first culture.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard-bid estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Support preconstruction efforts from early budgeting through GMP and buyout
- Collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and ownership
- Assist with value engineering, scope reviews, and cost optimization
- Participate in preconstruction meetings with internal teams and clients
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- 2+ years of experience in construction estimating or preconstruction
- Background with a General Contractor preferred (commercial, industrial, medical experience is a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
- Experience with estimating software and Excel
- Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred (not required)
