Job Title: Construction Engineering Inspector
Job Description

We are looking for a talented Construction Engineering Inspector to join our team in Florida. This role will be pivotal in our water resources group, managing a variety of water resources and infrastructure projects. The initial project involves providing Construction Management Services for the civil land development and vertical construction of a new Field Station for the South Florida Water Management District.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the contractor, government client, and engineer of record.
  • Ensure the contractor's work complies with permits and meets scheduling expectations.
  • Manage inspection work (QC) and coordinate the submittals and RFI process.
  • Run bi-weekly progress meetings.
  • Provide engineering during construction, construction management, or design/engineering support for various project types, including water control structures, flood control systems, environmental restoration, recreational areas, and municipal utilities.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or another construction-related engineering degree is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering inspection experience in civil and/or vertical construction projects.
  • Experience in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Suite, and Adobe.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • EIT/PE certification is a plus.
  • Experience with vertical construction and multiple trade disciplines is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods to support CMS and EDC projects in Florida, when needed.
Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility to work fully remote, ideally based near the Tampa Bay area. However, on-site presence may be required at the Okeechobee site. The work environment is dynamic and involves leading a team of engineers on complex ecosystem restoration projects. The company supports work on large, impactful projects that restore the Florida Everglades ecosystem. The role offers a competitive compensation package and the opportunity to lead and mentor junior staff, interact with clients, and potentially grow into a senior technical leader or client services manager.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Okeechobee, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $57.00/hr.
