Looking to break into the construction industry without being stuck behind a desk? As an Entry‑Level Construction Materials Technician, you’ll get hands‑on experience working on active job sites, testing concrete, soils, and other construction materials that keep projects safe and compliant.

No prior testing experience required — we provide training and help you earn certifications that increase your pay and career opportunities.

• Perform field testing of concrete (slump, air, temperature, cylinders)
• Conduct soil compaction testing using nuclear gauges (training provided)
• Assist with asphalt and aggregate testing
• Collect and transport samples to the laboratory
• Observe construction activities and document compliance with plans
• Prepare simple field reports and inspection logs
• Communicate with site personnel and project managers
• Maintain testing equipment and follow safety procedures

• Prior construction experience (labor, concrete, masonry, earthwork, etc.)
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Dependable, detail‑oriented, and safety‑minded
• Comfortable working early mornings, long days, and occasional weekends
• Willingness to travel around greater Cincinnati and nearby states

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Basic blueprint or construction drawing familiarity
• Associate’s degree in Construction Management or related field
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or similar

• Paid training & certification support (ACI, NICET, NETTCP)
• Clear career path to higher level technician, inspector, or project roles
• Significant overtime potential during peak construction season
• Work on major projects (schools, industrial facilities, stadiums, infrastructure)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
