Compliance Administrative Assistant (Temporary)

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Financial Compliance & Risk Management, the Compliance Administrative Assistant primary role is to support the organization’s financial compliance and Purchase Card Program Administration. This role is responsible for preparing, tracking, and maintaining a variety of financial and regulatory compliance submissions. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions. This role also acts as main purchase card administrator. The Compliance Administrative Assistant coordinates with Finance and other departments as needed and provides administrative support to the Senior Director of Financial Compliance and the Compliance team. The role is expected to consistently demonstrate professionalism and a commitment to high-quality internal customer service.

**Please note, this is a temporary position lasting up to 8 months, starting ASAP**

This position is remote; candidates must reside in a state in which HumanGood operates to be considered (CA, WA, OR, AZ, NV) 

Compensation: $21-26/hr depending on experience

Typical responsibilities: 

  • Support compliance activities by tracking deadlines, gathering data, and preparing schedules under the direction of compliance leadership.
  • Assist with the compilation, preparation, coordination, or submission of any federal, state, and local regulatory and tax filings and payments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, due diligence, and record retention. Types of filings include, but are not limited to, property tax, property tax exemption, sales tax, sales tax exemption, unclaimed property, state registrations, and business licenses.
  • Pull and organize reports and data required for compliance and filings.
  • Acts as main purchase card administrator, granting access to purchase card system and distributing cards, setting up team member profiles on Concur
  • Assists team members with their monthly reports, and addressing other questions and concerns about their card
  • Assists with reimbursement process (address questions, set up profile…)
  • Performs monthly internal control and monthly review of transactions for appropriateness and fraud detection
  • Assist with general Finance administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Process Finance department mail and code invoices as assigned.
  • Support inter- and intra-departmental surveys and initiatives aimed at improving Finance department engagement and customer service.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental policies, procedures, and documentation.

To be successful in this role, you should have: 

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-2 years of relevant prior work experience.
  • A proven track record of initiative, organizational skills, follow-through, delivering quality work product on time, and using independent thinking and good judgment to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and negotiate deliverables with multiple requestors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a positive and hospitable image to all types of people.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer skills and the MS Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
