Overview

A top-tier law firm is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Portland office. This role involves handling complex disputes for businesses and individuals across federal and state courts, as well as arbitration and other ADR forums. The ideal candidate brings strong litigation experience, sharp advocacy skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of commercial litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation
• Draft motions, briefs, and other legal filings
• Conduct legal research and case analysis
• Manage e-discovery and document review processes
• Participate in depositions, hearings, and ADR proceedings
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams on case strategy

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
• 3–5 years of civil or complex business litigation experience
• Judicial clerkship experience preferred
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills
• Experience with large, sophisticated matters is a plus
• Familiarity with e-discovery tools preferred
• Excellent academic credentials and references
• Licensed in Oregon or eligible for admission

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary ($260,000 – $365,000), plus discretionary bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and family care benefits.
