About the Opportunity
We are seeking a driven junior to mid-level associate to join a dynamic Litigation Practice. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career attorneys to gain hands-on experience handling complex commercial litigation matters across a wide range of industries.
The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing legal issues, conducting in-depth research, and drafting briefs for sophisticated litigation matters. Exposure to state and federal court proceedings, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, class certification, and appellate work, is highly valued.
This role offers meaningful client interaction and the opportunity to contribute to high-stakes litigation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and memoranda for complex litigation matters
Handle filings related to motions to dismiss, summary judgment, class certification, and appeals
Assist in trial preparation, including discovery, case strategy, and witness preparation
Take and defend depositions and attend court hearings as needed
Collaborate with litigation teams to support case development and client representation
Qualifications
✔ J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
✔ 1–6 years of commercial litigation experience
✔ Admission to the Virginia Bar required
✔ Experience drafting briefs and handling complex litigation matters in state and federal courts
✔ Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
✔ Experience with depositions, hearings, and trial work is a plus
