Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team in a custom, low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for generating and optimizing CNC programs using Striker CNC software and other platforms based on AutoCAD drawings, Mylar sketches, and Inventor models.
The primary focus is programming Turret Punch Presses for sheet metal punching operations, with additional support for other CNC machinery as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs using machine controller languages and store programs for production use
- Input and manage part patterns and graphical data within CNC systems
- Revise, test, and debug programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Determine machine reference points, cutting paths, hole locations, and calculate dimensions, radii, and curvatures
- Verify program accuracy by comparing outputs to engineering drawings and specifications
- Meet or exceed deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and throughput
- Perform routine and non-routine inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods
- Support production control activities as needed
- Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks accurately
- Assign job rates and establish routings
- Develop and maintain comprehensive shop floor job packets, including templates and documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or vocational degree in Sheet Metal Fabrication, CNC Programming, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in CNC programming
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD required
- Experience with Striker CNC software or similar programming systems preferred
- General knowledge of computer applications and programming principles
