CNC Lathe Machinist / Programmer

Balance Technology (BTI) is looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist / Programmer to support production in our Whitmore Lake, MI facility. This is a hands-on role focused on setup, programming, troubleshooting, and machining precision parts on our Haas ST-28 Turning Center.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys machining, problem-solving, and working closely with engineering in a clean, organized environment. This position offers the opportunity to help grow and improve our CNC turning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate CNC lathes, primarily the Haas ST-28
• Create and modify programs using Fusion 360 and/or Mastercam
• Perform tooling selection, offsets, and process troubleshooting
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Work with engineering to improve manufacturability and machining efficiency
• Inspect completed parts to ensure quality standards are met

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of CNC lathe setup and programming experience
• Experience with Haas controls preferred
• Proficiency in Fusion 360 and/or Mastercam
• Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, feeds/speeds, and GD&T
• Ability to independently troubleshoot setups and machining issues
• Experience with live tooling and C-axis machining is a plus
