CMT / Inspector / Field Engineer

We are seeking both experienced and entry-level professionals for CMT, Special Inspector, and Geotechnical Inspector roles across a variety of projects in the Raleigh-Durham area. We have immediate needs for Tech II and Tech III positions and welcome individuals interested in joining the field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing, analysis, and quality control of materials.
• Perform grain size analysis, Atterberg Limit testing, and moisture-density testing for soils.
• Execute ASTM and NCDOT hydrometer tests and laboratory resistivity testing.
• Carry out aggregate grain size analysis and determine the specific gravity of fine and coarse aggregates.
• Perform dry rodded unit weight tests for aggregates.
• Conduct compressive and flexural strength testing of Portland Cement Concrete samples.
• Produce laboratory trials, sample and test fresh concrete for unit weight and air content, and observe batch plant operations.
• Perform burn and gradation analysis for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) and conduct maximum theoretical testing (Rice) and specific gravity testing.
• Conduct absorption and compressive strength testing on masonry blocks.

• Experience in materials inspections.
• Skills in soils and concrete testing.
• Proficiency in masonry testing.

• 2-3+ years of experience preferred.
• Preferred certifications include ACI, ICC, and Nicet.
• No certifications are required but having an ACI certification is advantageous.

The position involves working both in the field and in the laboratory. The role requires hands-on testing and analysis using various laboratory and field equipment. It offers an opportunity to work in a leading firm in the Raleigh market recognized for its excellence in geotechnical and construction materials testing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
