SAIC seeks a Cloud Computing Engineer to join our team of professionals providing technical and� program services to the U.S. Government (USG). SAIC provides research, engineering, design, analysis,� acquisition, development, integration, test, and operations support USG Intelligence Community (IC)� and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support development and delivery of next generation� and generation after next national security systems based on land, at sea, in air, and in space. The Cloud Computing Engineer sought here serves a USG Program Office leading Research &� Development (R&D) of evolutionary, revolutionary, and transformational cloud-based architectures. This� position provides Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory (SETA) support services.

Job Description:

  • Understanding of and experience with commercially available cloud computing services such as� Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)� and emerging cloud services. Expertise with cloud computing services and architectures.
  • Expertise developing and maintaining cloud computing environments.
  • Working knowledge of the security considerations, best practices, and implementation associated with cloud computing services and architectures.
  • Provide recommendations for cloud development strategies, adoption of commercial cloud� services, solution architecture, and application and data migration.
  • Active member of enterprise R&D, learning, and innovation environment creating, gathering,� and sharing knowledge to grow organizational competency and capability.
  • Support researchers and users on using cloud computing, integration of application and� libraries, and problem resolution.
  • Understanding of current artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offerings and� research.

Qualifications



Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • Must have bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math discipline with minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience or 8 years with master's degree.
  • Experience with two or more cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of networks, compute, storage, virtualization, design and architecture� across multiple fabrics (classification levels).
  • Proven experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems and commands.
  • Experience with applications used in research such as Python and Jupyter Lab.
  • Proven self-starter.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to describe complex cloud computing architecture concepts and configurations to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for written reports, group discussion, and oral� presentations.
  • Working experience in the IC or DoD.
