POSITION: Software Engineer

JOB TYPE: W2, Onsite, Full-time, ongoing contract, 1st Shift

LOCATION: Moline, IL; Chicago, IL; Urbandale, IA; or Austin, TX (Onsite at any designated site)

JOB SUMMARY FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• As a Software Engineer, you will deliver robust, backend solutions for data platform products, focusing on distributed computing and advanced workflows. You’ll use your expertise in Java, AWS, and Akka to build scalable backend systems and contribute to cutting-edge technologies advancing the Monitor Stream area of the business.
• We’re seeking a passionate Software Engineer to join the ISG Data Platform team, supporting Monitor Stream area products. Ideal candidates are experienced with Java, AWS, and Akka, and ready to work on innovative, distributed solutions at one of several onsite hubs.
• Pay Range: $40-$55/hour depending on experience and benefits package.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• Design and develop distributed computing solutions using Java and Akka
• Build, integrate, and deploy cloud-native services leveraging AWS
• Work with Agentic AI Workflows, NOSQL databases, and Test Driven Development methodologies
• Collaborate closely with fellow developers and platform teams
• Contribute technical insight to architecture discussions and project deliverables

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• Bachelors degree with 3 years of experience
• Proficiency with Java (required)
• Hands-on experience with AWS (required)
• Strong knowledge of Akka (required)
• Experience in distributed computing environments
• Familiarity with Agentic AI Workflows
• Experience with NOSQL databases
• Emphasis on Test Driven Development in production code

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE FOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

• Redis experience
• AWS certification
• Advanced Akka expertise
