Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to lead the design, implementation, and management of secure, efficient, and
scalable cloud solutions that enable Metro Government operations and digital transformation. The position
serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert in cloud technologies, helping departments modernize
infrastructure, integrate applications, and optimize data flow across the enterprise.
This class works under works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and
sequences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working
in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
• Leads transformational initiatives centered on cloud services to deliver operational excellence and
innovative solutions.
• Designs, implements, and maintains secure and scalable cloud architectures for multi-agency use.
• Analyzes complex integration challenges and proposes practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Collaborates with business and technical teams to align solutions with organizational goals.
• Ensures compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, and data governance policies.
• Implements cloud-native security services (e.g., IAM, WAF).
• Deploys and manages infrastructure-as-code automation (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM,
PowerShell, Ansible).
• Provides technical leadership for hybrid and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Advises on implementing AI/ML-based cloud services such as Amazon Q and Azure/OpenAI
integrations.
• Mentors and coaches IT staff to develop cloud capabilities and professional growth.
• Promotes continuous improvement and stays informed on emerging technologies and best
practices.
• Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Ten (10) years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or
enterprise system integration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must provide one’s own source of transportation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
• Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check.
• Must complete annual security awareness training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body
movement.
• Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting
up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
