POSITION TITLE & OVERVIEW:
The Clinic Expansion Manager is responsible for leading Proficio Therapy’s multi‐state growth by
planning, launching, and operationalizing new ABA, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy clinics.
This role ensures each new clinic opens on time, meets regulatory and payer requirements, is staffed
appropriately, and is positioned for rapid census growth.
This is a high‐impact, execution‐driven role at the center of Proficio’s 2030 vision: 30 clinics across
three states, Currently running 10 clinics in Northern California and Utah
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Market Analysis & Site Selection
- Conduct demographic and payer‑mix analysis to identify high‑value locations in: Northern California (Bay Area, Sacramento Valley, San Joaquin County, East Bay), Southern California (LA County, Inland Empire, Orange County), Salt Lake City Metro
- Evaluate proximity to schools, pediatricians, and underserved communities.
- Partner with brokers to secure clinic spaces that meet therapy‑specific requirements
Clinic Build‑Out & Launch Execution
- Oversee end‑to‑end clinic setup: Floor plan design for ABA, Speech, and OT, Construction coordination and vendor management, equipment procurement (therapy materials, sensory equipment, furniture), IIT setup, EMR readiness, and safety compliance
- Ensure clinics meet state licensing, fire safety, ADA, and healthcare regulations. Deliver each clinic launch on time and within budget.
Regulatory, Licensing & Insurance Readiness
- Manage state‑specific licensing for ABA, Speech, and OT.
- Coordinate credentialing and contracting with major insurance providers: Optum, Aetna, BCBS, UHC, Medicaid (CA & UT), Tricare, Kaiser (CA)
- Ensure each clinic is fully authorization‑ready before opening.
Operational Readiness & Handoff
- Develop clinic SOPs aligned with Proficio’s multidisciplinary model.
- Train new clinic leadership on workflows, safety, scheduling, and EMR.
- Conduct soft‑launch and readiness audits before opening day.
- Transition clinic to regional leadership once stable.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Executive Leadership
- Clinical leadership for service model alignment
- Operations for workflow and compliance
- Finance for budgeting and ROI modeling
- Business Development for referral pipeline activation
- Marketing for launch campaigns and community visibility
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain a master expansion roadmap for all three regions.
- Track KPIs: Launch timelines, Budget adherence, Licensing/credentialing milestones & Census ramp‑up in first 90–180 days
- Present monthly updates to executive leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years experience in healthcare operations, clinic expansion, or multi‐site management.
- Experience in ABA, pediatric therapy, or outpatient healthcare strongly preferred.
- Strong project management and vendor coordination skills.
- Understanding of payer contracting, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel across California and Utah (40–60% travel).
- Highly organized, deadline‐driven, and comfortable managing multiple launches simultaneously
- Prior multi‐site healthcare expansion experience
- Strong payer/insurance knowledge
- Experience launching multidisciplinary clinics
COMPENSATION & WORK MODEL
- Competitive Salary from $80,000 to $90,000 + performance bonus tied to reaching clinic launch milestones
- Hybrid role with frequent travel to clinic sites.
- Home base can be Northern California, Southern California, or Salt Lake City.
