Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Clinic Coordinator for the Urology Clinic as a full time job in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Clinic Coordinator is primarily responsible for performing reception, clerical, registration and medical record duties and functioning as the focal communication source for the Medical Surgical Clinic under the supervision of the Patient Care Manager. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, medical and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional ambulatory patient care delivery.
Clinic Coordinator - Urology Clinic Roles & Responsibilities:
- Uses proper telephone and customer services etiquette when communicating with physicians, patients, visitors, internal and external customers.
- Manages faxes and incoming paperwork to assure that it gets to the proper person or place in a timely manner.
- Assembles charts for staff, including pulling referral documents to add to chart.
- Provides patient with return appointments, prescriptions, copy of med list, physician orders, financial counseling program fact sheet.
- Registers and/or edits patient registration information to assure that demographic, clinical and insurance data are entered correctly and utilizes Passport for insurance verification as appropriate.
- Utilizes scheduling system to schedule patient appointment for clinic visits, diagnostic services, and ancillary services per departmental procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully completed Unit Secretary training program from an approved hospital or vocational school.
- Prior Unit Secretary experience and training course work is preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance and managed care requirements desired.
- Knowledge of hospital and department Mission, Vision and Values as well as policies and procedures, patient interface procedures and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.
