Job Title: Clean Room Assembler

Job Description

The Clean Room Assembler works in a controlled clean room environment to assemble, package, label, and kit-pack medical device components used for surgical instruments. This cross-trained role involves following detailed work instructions and blueprints, using hand tools to assemble parts, and preparing finished products for shipment while maintaining high quality and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble containers and related components used for surgical instruments in a clean room environment.
  • Follow blueprints, work orders, and written work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately.
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, nuts, bolts, and locking compounds to secure screws and assemble fixtures.
  • Read and follow travelers to gather required parts from the warehouse and set up the work station each day.
  • Perform medical device assembly tasks with strong hand dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Inspect assembled components and products to ensure they meet quality and production standards.
  • Package, box, and label final products and test tubes according to specified requirements.
  • Assist with kit packing activities, ensuring all components are correctly included and labeled.
  • Support the shipping department when needed, including preparing products for shipment.
  • Maintain clean room protocols, including proper gowning procedures and adherence to contamination-control practices.
  • Work at a high production pace while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Communicate clearly in English and document work as required.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and write work directions, blueprints, and work orders in English.
  • Preferably 6 months or more of manufacturing or assembly experience, or strong aptitude as a sharp entry-level candidate.
  • Experience or comfort working with hand tools such as screwdrivers, nuts, and bolts.
  • Good hand dexterity for precise medical device assembly tasks.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Capability to work at a high production speed while maintaining quality.
  • Basic inspection skills to verify product quality.
  • Ability to work independently to gather parts and set up a work station using travelers.
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of clean room practices, including gowning procedures and contamination control, is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in medical device assembly or clean room production is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with packaging, labeling, and boxing of products in a production environment.
  • Experience using microscopes or magnification for inspection is a plus.
  • Ability to follow written and visual work instructions accurately.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting.

Work Environment

This role is performed primarily in a clean room environment that requires adherence to strict cleanliness and gowning procedures, including wearing appropriate clean room attire and avoiding items that could contaminate the area. Work involves both sitting and standing for long periods of time, with repetitive hand and arm movements for assembly and packaging tasks. The environment is production-focused, with clear work instructions, travelers, and work orders guiding daily activities. You will work with medical device components, hand tools, packaging materials, and may occasionally assist in the shipping area as needed.

Need to train on 1st shift for 3-5 days ( Flexible Schedule) and then move to 2:30PM-11PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
