Claims Examiner – Property & Casualty

The Claims Examiner is responsible for investigating, analyzing, and resolving Property & Casualty claims in compliance with policy language, New York State regulations, and internal company standards. This role requires strong judgment, clear and empathetic communication, and the ability to handle complex or high‑pressure situations while delivering fair, customer‑focused outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and evaluate Property & Casualty claims, including thorough coverage analysis
  • Manage claims throughout the full lifecycle, from first notice of loss to final resolution
  • Communicate professionally and empathetically with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and external vendors
  • Resolve claim‑related conflicts and disputes while ensuring adherence to policy provisions and regulations
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority, including time‑sensitive or complex claims
  • Review and analyze estimates, reports, medical records, and other supporting documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with New York State insurance regulations and company guidelines
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and well‑documented claim files
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud indicators and subrogation opportunities
