This role will focus on developing and maintaining chemical processes used in photovoltaic manufacturing, ensuring consistent product quality, process stability, and safe handling of chemicals across production lines. The Chemical Engineer will work closely with process engineering, quality, and production teams to support plant ramp up and ongoing operational performance.


Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Optimization

  • Support chemical processes used in solar cell and module manufacturing including cleaning, etching, coating, and surface treatment operations
  • Optimize chemical usage, concentration control, and process parameters to improve yield and efficiency
  • Monitor chemical bath performance and develop control strategies to maintain consistent production quality



Production Support


  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to troubleshoot process deviations and chemical related issues on the production line
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process defects and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with production supervisors and operators to ensure processes run safely and efficiently



Quality & Process Control


  • Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and control plans
  • Monitor process performance through SPC and other data analysis tools
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase process stability and reduce waste



Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Ensure proper chemical handling, storage, and disposal practices in line with EHS standards
  • Support safety reviews and risk assessments related to chemical processes
  • Work with EHS teams to maintain regulatory compliance for chemical management



Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve chemical efficiency, reduce costs, and improve process sustainability
  • Participate in new equipment commissioning and process qualification activities
  • Support ramp up of new manufacturing lines and technology improvements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment
  • Experience working with chemical processes in semiconductor, solar, electronics, or advanced manufacturing environments preferred
  • Strong understanding of process control, chemical systems, and manufacturing operations
  • Experience troubleshooting production processes and implementing process improvements
