Responsibilities:
As a Capital Projects Manager for automotive manufacturing plant,
you will:
• Engage internal stakeholders to understand project objectives
and gather available inputs, including capacity targets,
manufacturing constraints, testing and validation
requirements, and expected outcomes.
• Develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) including
functional requirements, technical specifications, deliverables,
assumptions, exclusions, timelines, performance criteria,
acceptance criteria, and plant standards, ensuring all required
information is clearly defined for external vendors to
accurately quote design, build and commissioning.
• Review SOWs with internal customers and cross functional
teams to confirm scope, timelines, expectations, and
compliance requirements. Incorporate feedback and obtain
approval before release.
• Release SOWs to external suppliers/integrators, manage the
quotation process, and act as the technical liaison to clarify
requirements, provide missing inputs
• Receive and evaluate vendor proposals ( bids), including
technical solutions, assumptions, and schedules, to ensure
technical feasibility and alignment with plant standards and
business objectives.
• Finalize concepts, Test , Validate and deploy and release them
• Must maintain highest level of quality following company
operating model the P& L way.
• Lead clarification and negotiation discussions with vendors,
requesting scope refinements, technical changes, cost
optimizations and alternate solutions as required.
• Support internal customers in vendor selection, ensuring the
chosen solution best meets technical, operational, financial,
and timeline requirements.
Requirements
• Capital projects experience in manufacturing engineering is
must.
• Technical documentation and Statement of work creation
• Evaluation of bids , finalization of concepts for fixtures,
Validate and deploy.
• Utilizing 3-D software (Teamcenter/Creo/ProE)
• Process Planning Tools
• AutoCAD
• Manufacturing Execution Systems
• Lean Manufacturing
• Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint)
• Good oral and written communication skills enabling
interaction within all levels of the organization and/or with
respective customers
• Good analytical ability and problem-solving skillset
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute projects
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology
discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) with 10 +
years’ experience required, foreign equivalent accepted.
• Experience in Automotive, off-highway or Ag/Construction
equipment manufacturing
• Experience in shop floor engineering with roles that
demonstrated a working knowledge of manufacturing
assembly processes, new product development, process
improvement projects, Installing new tooling and equipment.
• Experience in managing capital projects and/or technical
projects.
• Experience in roles that demonstrated a working knowledge of
industrial engineering principles including line design activities.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, build
relationships, and communicate with customers and external
vendors.
• Cross-functional experience in product engineering, industrial
engineering, production, quality engineering, operations,
maintenance, tool & fixture design, components
manufacturing, factory automation, and other technical fields.
• Prepare and present weekly project status to key
stakeholders.
