Cad Technician

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician who will be responsible for drafting and providing designs to the Engineering team. The role involves transforming raw data into a working drawing and building upon that with construction layers to create comprehensive construction documents. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced production environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring all submissions are of the highest quality.

Responsibilities

• Draft and provide designs to the Engineering team.
• Create as-built drawings and design site, interior, and emergency lighting.
• Develop and maintain drawings for use by the field team.
• Coordinate with mechanical contract drawings to ensure accurate placement of lighting systems.
• Produce detailed electrical schematics.
• Fill in technical details using drawings, rough sketches, and specifications.
• Perform calculations for placement accuracy.
• Clean and refine data, including rendering and redlining.
• Research specifications and datasheets to find solutions.
• Log drawings and database entries.
• Participate in weekly team meetings regarding project schedules.

• 3+ years of experience as a BIM Modeler, Detailer, Technician, or Coordinator.
• Proficiency in Revit, especially electrical.
• Experience designing and building detailed 3D models of electrical systems, including conduits, fixtures, and panels.

• Expertise in electrical, CAD, 3D CAD, MEP, lighting systems, design, architecture, electrical engineering, construction drawings, schematics, and electrical design-build processes.
• Experience producing electrical and construction drawings and completing as-built drawings.

The position is based in our office in Madison Heights, with a team of 20 office employees and additional field staff. Working hours are from 8am to 5pm, and the dress code is casual, allowing jeans and button-up shirts. The role involves working on various design-build projects across automotive, industrial, and commercial sectors. While the preference is for someone local, there may be flexibility for hybrid arrangements depending on the candidate's situation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, MI.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $48.07/hr.
