Survey Cad Technician

The CAD Technician is responsible for using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to support Civil Engineers and Surveyors by performing a variety of design and drafting activities. This includes creating routine layouts, detail drawings, sketches, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software, mainly Civil 3D and AutoCAD 2D.
• Analyze sketches, drawings, notes, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, surveyor, technician, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.
• Work closely with engineers, surveyors, technicians, project coordinators, project managers, and support staff to produce drawings and layout data.
• Revise and modify drawings as necessary.
• Plot, organize, and assemble project-related documents.
• Utilize knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematical formulas, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
• Adhere to company standards and methodologies.
• Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations.
• Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics.
• Support a 1.5 million dollar survey project initially, with eventual involvement in various projects, including survey, municipal, and land development projects.

• Proficiency in Civil 3D CAD.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Experience in survey or civil project support.

• More than 5 years of experience is a plus.
• Experience working on survey projects or within a survey department.
• MicroStation ORD (Open Roads) experience.

The role primarily involves office work with flexible hours, totaling 40-50 hours per week. After the first 90 days of training in-office, you may work 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
