Job Title: Cable Assembler
Job Description

The Cable Assembler builds and inspects cable assemblies used in critical applications. This role involves assembling cables from pre-packaged kits, attaching cables to connectors, and working with small components while following detailed blueprints. The position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work at a designated station using tools such as a magnifying glass to ensure precise, high-quality assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cables from provided kits, ensuring all components are correctly selected and used according to specifications.
  • Attach cables to connectors and other components following detailed blueprints and work instructions.
  • Work at a designated assembly station to complete cable builds efficiently and accurately.
  • Use a magnifying glass to assemble and inspect small parts and components with precision.
  • Identify damaged or defective materials and components, and remove or report them according to procedures.
  • Follow blueprints, diagrams, and assembly documentation to ensure proper configuration and quality of cable assemblies.
  • Handle and organize small components and materials to maintain an orderly and efficient work area.
  • Perform visual inspections of finished assemblies to verify quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors as needed to clarify instructions and resolve assembly issues.
  • Follow all workplace safety practices and guidelines while working with tools and equipment.
Essential Skills
  • 3–5 years of experience as a cable assembler or in a closely related assembly role.
  • Proven ability to read and follow blueprints accurately.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and small components.
  • Ability to use a magnifying glass to assemble and inspect small parts with precision.
  • High attention to detail and quality in repetitive, station-based work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions consistently.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shift hours.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in cable or electronic assembly environments.
  • Comfort working with detailed, repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity for small-part assembly.
  • Ability to work both independently at a station and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new assembly processes or documentation.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on, station-based production environment focused on cable assembly. Typical hours are either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the first shift or 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the second shift, with a shift differential offered for second shift. Team size information is pending, but you will work alongside other assemblers and support staff in a collaborative setting. The dress code is casual, with jeans and a plain shirt appropriate for daily work. No personal protective equipment is required for this role based on current conditions. Work involves extended periods seated or standing at a workstation, handling small components, and using tools such as a magnifying glass to complete precise assemblies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Haverhill, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
